First Friday Art Walk featuring Tina and Maria HenleMar 2, 5:00pmSea Spirits Gallery & GiftsSea Spirits Gallery & Gifts announces its March 2nd First Friday Art Walk event featuring sisters Tina Henle and Maria Henle. Come visit from 5-9 pm at 210 St. George Street, South of the plaza to experience the diverse work of this art family.

Tina Henle is an award winning freelance photographer with over 35 years of experience in fine art, portrait, wedding and commercial photography. She grew up on the island of St. Croix and acquired her first camera from her father, Fritz Henle, at age 18. Thus began her love for photography and travel.

Tina has a bachelor’s degree in Art and Anthropology from the University of New Mexico. She worked and mentored with her father throughout the 1980's. She has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows and owns the Henle Gallery in St. Croix. Tina resides and freelances in St. Augustine. She continues to travel worldwide, always adding to her portfolio of creative fine art photography.

Maria Henle was the daughter of photographer Fritz Henle. She was a painter, printmaker, and environmentalist with a passion for creating large landscape paintings and color etchings. Her inspiration came from the Caribbean, Europe, U.S., Mexico, Nepal, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Iceland. She is known for her trademark layered multiple images.

Maria studied printmaking in Florence, Italy and in New York City in the 1980's. In 1993, she opened the Maria Henle Studio and Gallery on St. Croix. Maria exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout her career and we can find her work in Metropolitan Life, Delta Airlines, Time Inc., Bank of America, the University of Texas, and in private and corporate collections worldwide. She received grants and awards for her work in printmaking, including a 1986 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. In 1998 her work was featured in New American Paintings. Maria Henle passed away in 2007.
