San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, in one of Henry Flagler's old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562.
Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premier wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. With more than 300 awards to their name, and over 100,000 visitors a year, this is a must see stop on your visit to St Augustine.
The San Sebastian Winery has been a sponsor of First Friday Artwalks, and many art festivals and events since their founding in 1996. As our Golden Sponsor, they help us to create the beautiful full-color brochure available at any of our participating galleries, and they host the Official After Party of First Friday Artwalks at their Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, "The Cellar Upstairs."
"The Cellar Upstairs" is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret of locals looking to enjoy a fine glass of wine, a cold beer or the lively local bands featured here nearly every weekend. Light appetizers are also available.
